NASA To Launch World's Lightest Satellite, Built By Chennai Student

Rifath Sharook is just 18 years, a student of Class 12 has built a satellite which the scientists say is the lightest satellite made till date. Rifath built the satellite as part of a contest organised by the US space agency.The satellite, named Kalam SAT – after former India President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam – weighs 0.1 kg, and is lighter than a smart phone.

Reports say that NASA will be launching this satellite on June 21.

It's a proud moment for India.
