Six More States/UTs Sign 24×7 “Power For All” Documents

Three States Mizoram, Jammu & Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh and three Union Territories Delhi, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli have signed the 24x7 “Power For All” (PFA) documents. These PFA documents were signed in presence of Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy during two day States Power Minister’s Conference held on 16-17th June, 2016 at Goa. Smt Jyoti Arora, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power signed these documents on behalf of GOI. 
As on date, in partnership with all the States/UTs, 24x7 PFA documents have been finalised except Uttar Pradesh, out of which 28 States have already signed the Documents. 
The plans aims to provide each household access to electricity, 24x7 reliable power supply and adequate supply to agricultural consumers as per state policy by 2019. 
The plans for each State/UT envisions reduction of AT& C losses by increasing the collection efficiency and effective metering so as to achieve financially viable 24x7 power supply.It also emphasise on the development of transmission and sub transmission network which plays vital role in providing round the clock power supply. 
Further, these documents chalks out a plan for increasing generation through renewable and energy efficiency measures which suggests replacement of Incandescent lamps/CFL bulbs with LED bulbs under UJALA programme. 
The Government of India is committed to improve the quality of life of its citizens through higher electricity consumption. Our aim is to provide each household access to electricity, 24x7 power supply by 2019. 
Implementation of the plan envisaged in the document is under progress, which is being jointly monitored by the State and the Central Government. Successful implementation of these plans will ensure reliable and affordable power round the clock to all the consumers.
