Kalpit Veerval of Udaipur has created history by scoring 360 out of 360 in the JEE mains. Never before had anyone scored cent percent marks. Kalpit had appeared from the SC category and has topped across categories. Rajashtan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, in a tweet, has congratulated Kalpit saying "Rajasthan is proud of you." Kalpit;s father is a male nurse at the government hospital and his mother is a government school teacher.
Though a resident of Rajasthan, Kalpit did not opt for going to Kota, the city which is a favourite for most seeking to sit for JEE. He took his coaching from a local centre saying staying at home with parents is an advantage in itself. Kalpit did his preparations for JEE alongwith his school studies and did not miss any of his regular classes. He is a student of MDS Senior Secondary School and is awaiting his Class 12 results.
Apart from the time he spent at school and the coaching classes he used to study for 6 more hours at home. Kalpit had earlier topped the Indian Junior Science Olympiad in 2013 and the National Talent Search Examination in 2014. His next target is the JEE(Advanced) which is scheduled for May 21.
