Volunteering To Fill Potholes On Roads

Bharat Mahan

Very recently the news of one Ravi Teja, who is just 12 years old, has come in the media. He is filling potholes on the roads of Hyderabad, on his own. When asked about this, Ravi said that sometime back he had watched a family of three fall from their motorcycle because of a pothole - all of them succumbed. This incident made him decide to take up this work where he picks up the solid rubbish lying around and filling the pothole.

Earlier also we have read of such stories. Last year a Mumbai man, Dadabhai Bilhore, had taken up this work of filling potholes after his 16-year-old son died in a bike accident.

Each one of us can also pitch in. Instead of just waiting for the civic authorities, we can help in the avoidance of accidents and also save on the fuel consumption and maintenance of vehicles.
