Various projects under the ambitious 'Namami Gange' programme, worth 400 crores, got approval on Monday. These include development of ghats and crematoria in the states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The river stretch between Rudraprayag and Guptkashi in Uttarakhand; in Kanpur, Bijnor, Allahabad and Bithur in Uttar Pradesh; Kahalgaon in Bihar, from Sahibganj to Rajmahal in Jharkhand and Bhatpara and Nadhati in West Bengal.
