In the Odisha Board's Class X exams Nabarangpur dist recorded a pass percentage of 92%. This district is one of the poorest districts of the country. And all this after a shortfall of 985 teachers in elementary schools and 290 teachers in secondary schools as per the District Education Officer (DEO). The DEO attributed these “spectacular results” to “persistent monitoring, inspection and tracking of teachers’ attendance”. “There’s not a single child who hasn’t been enrolled in school.
