Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday showcased the Bullet Resistant Jackets being made under the ‘Make in India’ initiative of P M Narendra Modi. The Jackets have been made using standard (IS 17051: 2018) set by the Bureau of India Standard (BIS) which was notified in December, 2018. This standard has been formulated following the directions of Niti Aayog and Ministry of Home Affairs. The standard is expected to fulfill the long pending demand of Indian Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and State Police Forces and will assist them in streamlining their procurement process.
Addressing the media after showcasing the jackets, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan expressed happiness over the fact that India has now joined selected League of Nations such as US, UK & Germany to have its own standard for Bullet Resistant Jackets and said that these jackets are light weight weighing between 5 kilograms to 10 kilograms depending on the threat level and are of the best quality in the world. Talking about the prices of the jackets it was informed that these jackets range from Rs. 70,000 to 80,000 which is considerably lesser than the price of the jackets which were being procured earlier.
An Ex- Army personnel showcased the jacket and explained its salient features to the media. The jackets have a dynamic weight distribution system which makes it feel half its actual weight and also has an easy to open and release system to ensure that the jawans can easily wear and remove the jackets as per their requirement without much effort. These jackets also allow the jawans to use his weapon with ease while getting a 360 degree protection from bullets. Maximum areal densities for Soft Armour Panel (SAP) and Hard Armour Panel (HAP) has been specified for these jackets.
As the critical performance requirements and their evaluation procedures have been clearly brought out in this standard, it will ensure the availability of quality Bullet Resistant Jackets at economical price. Central Armed Police Forces like CRPF, BSF, SSB, CISF, NSG etc. have already initiated the process of procuring such jackets as per the Indian Standard set by BIS.
‘मेक-इन-इंडिया’ पहल के अंतर्गत बने बुलेट रोधी जैकेटों जिनका का वजन और लागत काफी कम है
केन्द्रीय उपभोक्ता, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री रामविलास पासवान ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की ‘मेक-इन-इंडिया’ पहल के अंतर्गत बने बुलेट रोधी जैकेटों को दिखाया। जैकेट भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (बीआईएस) द्वारा निर्धारित और दिसंबर,2018 में अधिसूचित मानक (आईएएस 17051: 2018) का उपयोग करते हुए बनाए गए हैं। इस मानक को नीति आयोग और गृह मंत्रालय के निर्देशों के अनुसार बनाया गया है। आशा है कि यह मानक भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों, अर्ध सैनिक बलों तथा राज्य पुलिस बलों की पुरानी मांग को पूरा करेंगे और उनकी खरीद प्रक्रिया को सहज बनाने में सहायक होंगे।
पासवान ने संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की कि भारत ने बुलेट रोधी जैकेटों के लिए अपने मानक के अनुसार जैकेट बनाने वाले अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन और जर्मनी जैसे चुनिंदा देशों के समूह में शामिल हो गया है। उऩ्होंने बताया कि भारत मानक ब्यूरो द्वारा तय मानक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानकों के बराबर है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह जैकेट कम वजन के हैं और इनका वजन पांच किलों से 10 किलोग्राम है। जैकेट विश्व गुणवत्ता के अनुरूप है। जैकेटों की कीमत के बारे में उन्होंने कहा कि इनकी कीमत 70 हजार रुपये से 80 रुपये के बीच है और यह कीमत पहले खरीदे जाने वाले जैकेटों की कीमत से कम है।
एक पूर्व सैनिक ने जैकेट पहनकर दिखाया और इसकी विशेषताओं की जानकारी मीडिया को दी। जैकेट पहनने पर इसका वजन वास्तविक वजन से आधा महसूस होता है और यह सहजता से खुल सकता है। इसे जवान आवश्यकता के अनुसार आसानी से पहन सकते हैं और उतार सकते हैं। यह जैकेट पहनकर जवान अपने हथियारों का इस्तेमाल सहजता से कर सकते हैं।
