A host of NGOs and organisations played part in giving a send-off to the 'joy of giving' week celebrations by conducting awareness drives, holding street plays and distributing food to the poor. Indians have never lagged behind in philanthropy. From centuries we have seen 'dharamsalas', 'sarais', hospitals and schools being made by such people.
