Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch "Gramoday Se Bharat Uday" campaign, to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar, on April 14 in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign will conclude on Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, when Modi is expected to address all gram sabhas in the country from Jamshedpur, Singh added. On the first day of “Gramoday Se Bharat Uday” programme, on 14th April people will take oath of tolerance and social harmony across villages in the country.
“The Prime Minister will inaugurate the campaign in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. The aim of the campaign is to generate nationwide efforts to increase social harmony across villages, strengthen panchayati raj, promote rural development and foster farmers’ welfare and livelihood of the poor,” Union Minister for Rural Development Birender Singh said.
He also said that MPs and MLAs will be present at gram sabha meetings that will be held during the period in all states, except the poll-bound states of Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. At ‘Village Farmer Assemblies’, farmers will also be given information about government schemes.
