Unique Library With Human Books

Delhi will witness its first Human library come to life this weekend. Participants can borrow humans a.k.a books and know their story, just like reading a book.

At the event, to be held in Connaught Place between 2pm and 7pm, people can walk in and borrow for 20 minutes human books – real people who will share their lives, experiences, and tales of success and sorrow. A participant can even ask them questions, all free of charge.

One of the human books is a 23-year-old cancer survivor who wished to create awareness about the disease.

Human libraries first began in Denmark in 2000 and quickly spread to more than 80 countries. In India, such events have been held in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Indore.

This idea can surely be replicated elsewhere too.
