Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, participated in Swachh Shakti- 2019, a convention of Women Sarpanchs and felicitated the women sarpanchs from across the country with the Swachh Shakti-2019 awards, in Kurushetra, Haryana on Tuesday.
PM stated that coming together of swachagrahis from across the nation has strengthened the resolve of Swachh Bharat for a New India.
Striking an emotional cord with the people of Haryana, PM said the state has been a pioneer from the launch of one rank one pension to beti bachao beti padhao and also the first beneficiary of the Ayushmann bharat scheme was a daughter from Haryana.
PM emphasised that only empowered women can create an empowered society and a strong nation. He spoke how Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, National Nutrition Mission, Prime Minister's Safe Maternity Campaign extending maternity leave from 12 to 26 weeks and the ownership of houses first to the women under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have played a key role in empowering the women. “We are the first government to impose death penalty for rapes”, he added
He said that approximately 75% of the loans under MUDRA are given to female entrepreneurs. About 6 crore women have joined the self-help groups under the Din Dayal Antayoday scheme and more than Rs. 75000 crore of loans have been provided to such self-help groups. This amount is 2.5 times more than what was allocated in four years preceding 2014
PM said “the constant struggle of our mothers and daughters because of lack of hygienic toilets have stirred me. And I took a pledge of Swacch Bharat from the ramparts of Red Fort. In about 70 years of independence, the scope of hygiene was nearly 40%. It has reached 98% today. More than 10 crore restrooms have been created in the 4 and half years. 5 lakh villages in 600 districts have freed themselves from defecation in open. This has given them a dignified life”.
PM appreciated that a Nigerian delegation is on a study tour to learn how the Swachh Bharat Mission has gained ground and how it can be replicated in Nigeria.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने महिला सरपंचों के एक सम्मेलन-स्वच्छ शक्ति 2019 में, कुरुक्षेत्र, हरियाणा में भाग लिया और देश भर की महिला सरपंचों को स्वच्छ शक्ति 2019 पुरस्कार प्रदान किए। प्रधानमंत्री ने कुरुक्षेत्र में स्वच्छ सुन्दर शौचालय प्रदर्शनी देखी।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि देश भर के स्वच्छाग्रहियों के एकजुट होने से नये भारत के लिए स्वच्छ भारत का संकल्प मजबूत हुआ है।
प्रधानमंत्री ने भावुकता से भरे शब्दों में हरियाणा के लोगों से कहा कि राज्य वन रैंक, वन पेंशन से लेकर बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओं की शुरूआत में अग्रणी रहा है और आयुष्मान भारत योजना का पहला लाभ भी हरियाणा की बेटी ने लिया।
प्रधानमंत्री ने जोर देकर कहा कि केवल सशक्त महिलाएं एक सशक्त समाज और मजबूत राष्ट्र का निर्माण कर सकती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि किस प्रकार बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओ, उज्ज्वला योजना, राष्ट्रीय पोषण मिशन, प्रधानमंत्री सुरक्षित मातृत्व अभियान के तहत मातृत्व अवकाश 12 सप्ताह से बढ़ाकर 26 सप्ताह करने और प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के अंतर्गत घर पर स्वामित्व का पहला अधिकार महिला का करने जैसे कार्यों ने महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। उन्होंने कहा, “हमारी पहली सरकार है जिसने दुष्कर्म के लिए मृत्युदंड लागू किया।”
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि मुद्रा योजना के अंतर्गत करीब 75 प्रतिशत ऋण महिला उद्यमियों को दिए गए हैं। दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना के अंतर्गत करीब 6 करोड़ महिलाएं स्वसहायता समूहों में शामिल हुई हैं और ऐसे स्व-सहायता समूहों को 75000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के ऋण प्रदान किए गए हैं। यह राशि 2014 से पूर्व के चार वर्षों में आवंटित राशि से ढाई गुना अधिक है।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा,“स्वच्छ शौचालयों के अभाव में हमारी माताओं और बेटियों के लगातार संघर्ष ने मुझे द्रवित कर दिया था और मैंने लाल किले की प्राचीर से स्वच्छ भारत की प्रतिज्ञा की थी। आजादी के करीब 70 साल में स्वच्छता का दायरा करीब 40 प्रतिशत था, आज यह 98 प्रतिशत पर पहुंच चुका है। साढ़े चार वर्षों में 10 करोड़ से अधिक शौचालयों का निर्माण किया गया है। 600 जिलों में 5 लाख गांव खुद को खुले में शौच से मुक्त कर चुके हैं। इससे उन्हें सम्मानजनक जीवन मिला है।”
प्रधानमंत्री ने स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के आधार पकड़ने और नाइजीरिया में इस प्रकार के कार्य के संबंध में भारत में स्टडी टूर के लिए आए नाइजीरिया के एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल की सराहना की।
