Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has identified 100 districts for micro-planning to achieve the targeted total fertility rate of 2.1. It has been found that in 23 districts in 4 states this rate is above 4; in 123 districts in 7 states this is between 3 and 3.9. According to Health Minister JP Nadda the reasons vary in each district which could be because of poor infrastructure, social or cultural reasons and education. Read the complete report in TOI.
