15000 Stipend for Undergoing Training to be Commercial Drivers

To meet the growing demand of trained drivers for commercial vehicles the Road Transport Ministry under the skill development programme will undertake this training with the help of private and state undertakings. The ministry will provide a stipend of 15000 Rupees per month for those undertaking this training. For the current financial year an allocation of 60 crores has been made. Along with drivers the ministry also plans to provide training to motor mechanics and highway construction workers.
