An ambitious scheme that will see distribution of 50 lakh smartphones to rural households, urban poor and college students across Chhattisgarh has been launched by President Shri Ramnath Kovind. The scheme, Sanchar Kranti Yojana (Information Revolution Project) envisages distribution of smart phones to 45 lakh women and five lakh youth which will bring a new era in the lives of citizens of the State. The tribal women and youth will benefit from the scheme. The installation of mobile towers in the remote regions have the capacity to reduce the distance between Bengaluru and Bastar as far as connectivity is concerned. The President expressed his happiness that modern facilities are reaching the Adivasi-dominated far-flung regions also.
The phones will also come pre-loaded with an app called “Goth”, the Chhattisgarhiya word for conversation. The app has been developed by the Directorate of Public Relations. This will give users information on central and government schemes, as well as entertainment programmes in local languages.
राष्ट्रपति श्री रामनाथ कोविन्द ने राज्य के 50 लाख लोगों को निःशुल्क स्मार्ट फोन देने के लिए राज्य सरकार की संचार क्रांति योजना का शुभारंभ किया। जनसभा में इसका उल्लेख करते हुए श्री कोविन्द ने कहा - पूरे राज्य में 45 लाख महिलाओं और पांच लाख युवाओं को स्मार्ट फोन देने और बड़ी तादाद में मोबाइल टावर लगाने की राज्य सरकार की यह योजना इस क्षेत्र के विकास को एक नया आयाम देगी। यहां की आदिवासी महिलाएं और युवा मोबाइल बैंकिंग के साथ-साथ केन्द्र और राज्य सरकारों द्वारा मोबाइल फोन के जरिये दी जा रही अन्य सुविधाओं का लाभ उठा सकेंगे। राष्ट्रपति ने कहा - इस योजना में स्मार्ट फोन और मोबाइल टावर की सुविधाओं से कनेक्टिविटी की दृष्टि से बस्तर और बेंगलुरू के बीच का अंतर समाप्त कर देने की क्षमता है। मुझे यह देखकर बहुत खुशी होती है कि देश के ग्रामीण और आदिवासी अंचलों में भी धीरे-धीरे आधुनिक सुविधाएं पहुंच रही है।
श्री कोविन्द ने प्रतीक स्वरूप कुछ हितग्राहियों को मोबाइल फोन देकर शुभकामनाएं दी। इसके तहत आज बस्तर अंचल की संगीता निषाद को भी स्मार्ट मोबाइल फोन मिला। संगीता को अपने इस स्मार्ट फोन पर सबसे पहले मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. रमन सिंह से बात करने का मौका मिला। उल्लेखनीय है कि संगीता ने मोबाइल फोन के लिए सरकार को धन्यवाद देने के साथ-साथ इस फोन से सबसे पहले मुख्यमंत्री के साथ बात करने की मंशा प्रकट की थी। उन्होंने इस निःशुल्क स्मार्ट फोन के लिए राष्ट्रपति और मुख्यमंत्री को धन्यवाद भी दिया।
