Students after finishing their Class XII will soon have the facility to pursue hockey and archery in Jharkhand. Government has started work in establishing centres of excellence in Ranchi for hockey and archery. These centres will have state-of-the-art training facilities and will be a big boost for the promising sportspersons of Jharkhand.
According to officials these two centres will be operational in the current financial year. Plans are afoot for have centres of excellence for football and badminton too.
Information available says that there are 26 residential and 85 day-boarding sports centres in Jharkhand. In the coming years more are likely to be opened.
