Jharkhand government has launched the PTG Dakia Yojana on Monday in which food packets of 35 kgs will be delivered at the doorsteps of some 70,000 vulnerable tribal families. It is reported that employees of Food and Civil Supplies Department will deliver these packets once every month to these families.
This scheme of Jharkhand government must be the first such effort of any government reaching food directly to the homes of the recipient. The scheme was formally launched in Godda, Sahebganj and Palamau districts, as these districts have high concentration of primitive tribal groups (PTG).
