Gurugram or Gurgaon may soon become the first city in India to get a full-scale smart grid. This would help the city in getting rid of blackouts and also make it diesel gen-set free. The central government has given a grant of 273 cr of the total budgeted amount of 1382 cr for the first phase. Consumers who put roof top solar units will be feeding surplus power into the mains.
