Talented sports-persons in Jharkhand will now get a 2% quota in all jobs of the government. Earlier this quota prevailed in the Police department only. Chief Minister Raghubar Das made this announcement on Saturday while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 23rd Senior National Indian Round Archery Championship in Kharsawan in Jharkhand.
The Government will also form Kamal Sports Clubs at Ppnchayat, block and district levels to organise different activities to promote talented sports-persons in the area, and within one month a residential centre for football training will be opened in Kharsawan, the CM informed.
After Seraikela, Dumka and Silli the fourth Archery training centre of the state will be set up at Kumardungi High School, Chaibasa (West Singhbhum) this year. There are plans to open such archery centres at Chandanquari and Bokaro also.
It may be mentioned that the government has been providing Rs 3000 stipend to archers whereas, the welfare department provide Rs 3 lakhs for purchase of equipment.
Chief Minister informed that in the proposed Sports University in Jharkhand, around 1500 sports-persons including 750 from Jharkhand will be enrolled.
