Saini runs a makeshift juice stall near Ganga canal in Muzaffarnagar's Bhopa area, which is also infamously known as the "suicide point". Situated around 16km from the main Muzaffarnagar city, Saini's stall is metres away from the canal bridge, from where unhappy and depressed people often jump to death.
"I just know that I can't see someone dying in front of me. That is why I do what I do," Saini said.

(Near many urban habitats such 'suicide points' are located, from where it is easy for persons to end their life. It may be high rise buildings, road/rail bridges, railway tracks, etc. A watchful person, like Manoj, can save lives. This news in TOI also talks of a reward of Rs1000/- being given to Manoj - time we recognise such person in a more befitting manner, and the community should also come forward for this. - Editor)
