The 'Namami Gange' project has been formally launched on Thursday. 231 projects under National Mission for Clean Ganga were simultaneously launched in five states. Worth 1500 crores these projects will be undertaken at 100 different locations in the states of Uttarkhand, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The projects include construction sewage treatment plants, sewage pumping stations, modernisation of ghats and crematoriums, afforestation.
