The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will launch its own portal on 9th August to sell books online. Through this portal students and schools will be able to place orders directly to NCERT for its books, which will be delivered at home or the school.
Talks are also in progress with the popular online marketing sites like Amazon and Flipkart for sale of NCERT books through their portals.
It is expected that the cost to students for prescribed books will be reduced as the books on this portal will be sold at the prices fixed by NCERT. Presently the books by private publishers are comparatively higher in cost.
