Rajasthan government, under the stewardship of CM Vasundhara Raje is marching forward towards digital economy. This has become all the more important after the demonetisation announced by PM Narendra Modi on 8th Nov. Now the stress is being laid on cashless economy with more and more use of plastic money.
In an advertisement Rajasthan government has given information of its achievement on this front. This speaks of the efforts that have been made and what are the achievements so far.
* Under the Bhamashah Yojana, which was inititated in 2008 one and a half crore bank accounts have been opened.
* One crore and fifteen lakh Rupay Debit Cards have been issued.
* More than 5000 crore have been deposited directly into accounts of beneficiaries of various schemes.
* More than 23000 Banking Pay Points with Micro ATMs have been set up. 15000 more coming up.
* Digital payments can be availed of in more than 270 services in 70 departments.
* More than 40000 e-Mitra centres are in place for Digital Service Delivery.
* Ration distribution at 24411 fair price shops through biometric authentication.
* 40 debit cards and 12 mobile wallets have been integrated with 'Digital Payment Platform'.
* Vat on micro ATMs and PoS machines have been exempted.
