This news, as published in TOI, will cheer many. We have seen so much tension among the candidates who appear for medical and engineering college admission tests. Though they could have got very high marks in the school board exams but the admission hanged in balance unless they scored very well in the admission tests.
Considering this stress that the students face Supreme Court has asked government to frame guidelines to do away with the present system of a single test deciding on the admissions. The Court has said that 40% weightage should be given to results of the Board exams and 60% to the entrance exam. "It is wrong that the entire future of a student is decided by his/her performance in the entrance examination," the Court said.
