It is heartening to note that the first ever tribal paramilitary battalion is getting ready. 33% of its recruits will be women. Recruitment are likely to be completed by mid-January. News in Indian Express say that these recruits will join in April 2017 for basic training. CRPF, for the first time, is raising an exclusive composite tribal battalion by recruiting male and female youth from south Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Also for the first time CRPF has implemented 33% reservation at constable level recruitment for females.
