The PM addressed a state-level Mahila Saksham Melava or Empowered Women’s Meet of Self Help Groups, organized by Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission (UMED), in Aurangabad today.
Addressing the gathering, the PM commended the empowered women present for their contribution towards empowering themselves and their communities through Self Help Groups.
The PM observed that Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) will become an important part of the Aurangabad town and an important industrial centre of the country in the near future. Aurangabad is an important segment of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor as well, the PM added. The firms investing in AURIC will create a lot of jobs as well, said the PM.
Marking the ahead-of-date achievement of 8 crore LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the PM distributed LPG connections to five beneficiaries. Noting that this has been achieved seven months ahead of the target date, the PM observed that in Maharashtra alone, 44 lakh Ujjwala connections have been given. Saluting the colleagues who made this possible, the PM said that we were able to achieve it due to our concern for the health of women suffering from the smoke emanated by chullahs.
The PM added that not only were connections given, but a holistic infrastructure comprising 10,000 new LPG distributors, mostly in rural India, have been appointed. “New bottling plants have been built. Terminal capacity near ports has been increased and pipeline network has been widened. 5-kg cylinders are being promoted. Piped gas is also being delivered. We want to ensure that not a single household remains without LPG connection.”
The PM said that Jal Jeevan Mission has been launched in order to free women from the trouble of having to toil hard to fetch water. “Jal Jeevan Mission involves saving water and delivering water at one’s doorstep. The Government will spend 3.5 lakh crore rupees for this, in the next five years”.
Recalling Shri Ram Manohar Lohia’s statement that toilet and water are the two biggest problems faced by Indian women, the PM said that if these two issues are resolved, women can then lead the country. “Marathwada region is going to benefit in a big way from Jal Jeevan Mission. The first water grid in the country will be made in Marathwada; this will increase water availability in the region”.
उज्ज्वला योजना ने 8 करोड़ एलपीजी कनेक्शन का लक्ष्य निर्धारित तिथि से सात माह पहले हासिल किया
प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने आज औरंगाबाद में महाराष्ट्र प्रदेश ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन (यूएमईडी) द्वारा आयोजित एक राज्य स्तरीय महिला सक्षम मेलवा अथवा स्वयं सहायता समूहों के सशक्त महिला सम्मेलन को संबोधित किया।
उपस्थित जनसमूह को सम्बोधित करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने स्वयं सहायता समूहों के माध्यम से स्वयं को एवं अपने समुदायों को सशक्त बनाने में योगदान देने वाली महिलाओं की प्रशंसा की।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि औरंगाबाद औद्योगिक नगर (एयूआरआईसी) निकट भविष्य में औरंगाबाद शहर का महत्वपूर्ण भाग तथा देश का एक महत्वपूर्ण औद्योगिक केंद्र बन जाएगा। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि औरंगाबाद दिल्ली-मुम्बई औद्योगिक गलियारे का एक महत्वपूर्ण भाग भी है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि औरंगाबाद औद्योगिक नगर (एयूआरआईसी) में निवेश करने वाली फर्में भी अनेक नौकरियों का सृजन करेंगी।
प्रधानमंत्री उज्ज्वला योजना के अंतर्गत नियत तिथि से पहले आठ करोड़ एलपीजी कनेक्शन देने की उपलब्धि के अवसर पर प्रधानमंत्री ने पांच लाभार्थियों को एलपीजी कनेक्शन भी वितरित किए । यह बताते हुए कि यह उपलब्धि लक्षित तिथि से सात माह पूर्व प्राप्त कर ली गई है, प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि अकेले महाराष्ट्र में 44 लाख उज्ज्वला कनेक्शन प्रदान किये गए हैं । यह सम्भव बनाने वाले साथियों को सलाम करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि यह उपलब्धि हम उन महिलाओं के स्वास्थ्य के प्रति अपनी चिंता के कारण हासिल कर पाए हैं जो चूल्हे से उठने वाले धुएं से पीड़ित हैं ।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि न केवल कनेक्शन प्रदान किये गए बल्कि विशेषकर ग्रामीण भारत में 10,000 नये एलपीजी वितरकों से निर्मित एक नयी एवं समग्र एलपीजी अवसंरचना का निर्माण किया गया है। "नये बॉटलिंग कारखानों का निर्माण किया गया है। बंदरगाहों के निकट टर्मिनल क्षमता में वृद्धि की गई है तथा पाइपलाइन के नेटवर्क को व्यापक बनाया गया है। 5 किलोग्राम के सिलिंडरों को प्रोत्साहन दिया जा रहा है। पाइप के माध्यम से भी गैस की आपूर्ति की जा रही है। हम यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहते हैं कि एक भी घर बगैर एलपीजी कनेक्शन के न रहे।"
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि महिलाओं को पानी ढोने से सम्बंधित परिश्रम की समस्या से निजात दिलाने के लिये जल जीवन मिशन की शुरुआत की गई है। "जल जीवन मिशन में पानी बचाना एवं घर की दहलीज पर जलापूर्ति सम्मिलित है। सरकार इसके लिये अगले पांच वर्षों में 3.5 लाख करोड़ रुपये खर्च करेगी।"
श्री राम मनोहर लोहिया के इस वक्तव्य का स्मरण करते हुए कि शौचालय एवं पानी भारतीय महिलाओं की दो सबसे बड़ी समस्याएं हैं, प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि यदि यह दो मसले हल हो जाएं तब महिलाएं देश को नेतृत्व प्रदान कर सकती हैं। "मराठवाड़ा क्षेत्र को जल जीवन मिशन से अत्यंत लाभ होने जा रहा है। देश की पहली वॉटर ग्रिड का निर्माण मराठवाड़ा में होने जा रहा है; इससे क्षेत्र में पानी की उपलब्धता बढ़ेगी।"
