A day after the image of a woman constable working on the reception desk at Jhansi’s Kotwali police station with her infant daughter sleeping next to her went viral, UP DGP Om Prakash Singh Sunday confirmed her transfer to Agra, where her parents stay.
Referring to Constable Archana Jayant’s (30) as a “quintessential 21st century woman”, he said her experience had inspired state police to explore the possibility of having a creche at every police line.
