Work Starts for 8 River-Transport Projects

The government has taken up river transport projects on priority. The Ministry of Shipping has identified 106 National Waterways with a total length of 2,027 kms. Out of these 37 stretches have been earmarked to be developed in the next 3 to 4 years. 8 priority stretches, which have high potential and are financially viable have been identified and work on these have started.
