Persistent Efforts Help Retain Slum Kids in Schools

We have been reading a lot on schools run by government and NGOs for slum kids. However, many a times we have seen that once enrolled it is not easy to retain these children. The drop out rate is very high. The parents are not very interested and sometimes even resist any attempt at all that is being made to take these children to school.
