1.10 L Gas Connections to BPL Families in Jharkhand

On the auspicious occasion of "Bhaiya Dooj" Jharkhand government launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to distribute LPG connection, cylinders and gas stove to one lakh and ten thousand families who are among below poverty line (BPL). In the next three years some 23 lakh BPL families will benefit from this scheme. While Chief Minister Raghubar Das launced this scheme in Hazaribagh, Simultaneous programmes were held in every district of Jharkhand on Tuesday. According to the Chief Minister Jharkhand is the first state which is giving all this to the BPL families free of cost. The other states are charging some amount, he said. The Jharkhand government will be spending 450 cr Rupees for this and an equal amount will be shared by the central government.
