Delhi Students To Get Legal Lessons

Bharat Mahan

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, schoolchildren from over 2,000 government and private schools across Delhi will get an opportunity to learn legalities from sitting judges, former judges, public prosecutors, psychologists, social workers and lawyers.

The students will be informed about legal conundrums, legal rights, civic issues, fundamental rights and laws concerning an average school-going child and the people around him. This programme is being held to dispel a lot of misconception about basic legal aspects.

The programme is being organised by Delhi State Legal Service Authority (DSLSA) in collaboration with the state education department. May be, other states can also replicate this or something similar.
