Doctors Choosing to Work in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist-Affected Area

Some time back news had come how a District Collector in Chhattisgarh had used the social media to attract the attention of medical doctors to work in Maoist affected area. And the response he got was very encouraging.

Today a report in Hindustan Times by Sanchita Sharma gives the insight of this. Dr Ayyaj, a medical graduate who joined an Indian Administrative Service. Currently working as district collector, Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) is the person who could make this change to provide health care in this difficult terrain.

Such stories should appear more often in newspapers and the TV too. This motivates others to make a difference for the society.
