Simdega Police To Install Solar Light in 10 Villages For Students

Bharat Mahan

Most of the time we keep on hearing negative news of the Police force. Here is a very positive story from Simdega in Jharkhand where the police have plans to install solar lights in 10 villages for the students, so that their studies are not affected.

Ten non-electrified remote villages have been selected where the police will build concrete platforms and install solar lights. Here, the students will be able to study in bright light. The locals will help too - they will provide to build sheds on these platforms so that the children will get relief from the chilly weather. Earlier these children had to do their studies with kerosene lamps which had its own problems, particularly on the health of these children.

It may be mentioned that the selected villages are in dense forests some 40 to 80 kms from Simdega and are in the area where naxal activities do affect the daily routine.

May be such philanthropic work by police force changes the perception the commoner has about them and hopefully such work is replicated in other area too.
