Tabs for Ekal Teachers Under Pilot Project

Ekal Sansthan, under its Ekal_Digital mission undertook a pilot project of empowering digitally, all the 30 Ekal Vidyalaya teachers of Nanak Matta sanch in Uttarakhand. There are 30 schools in a sanch. After an extensive study of the area, including an ‘acharya’ survey by an intern, it was decided to equip all the teachers with tabs. These tabs were loaded with special programmes to aid the teacher in reaching the education programme in a better fashion to the village students.

A team consisting of Sri Praveen Arya, Sri K.E.N. Raghavan, sah-abhiyan pramukh, Sri Anant, Srimati Sushma, Kumari Neha and Kumari Krati, from Delhi visited the Sanch on 1st and 2n October 2016. The  main objectives of this visit was to distribute the tabs to each teacher and to train them for the proper usage of the Tablet-software and hardware related details; a Q&A session helped in explaining the objective behind the Tablet-distribution and training and how it would enhance acharyas’ skills and empower them to contribute to the Digital India Movement of our Prime Minister Narendra Modiji.

Sri Anant and Kumari Krati distributed the tablets to the assembled Acharyas; soon after Kumari Krati launched the training and it took 2 hours to complete the same to the full satisfaction of the acharyas. During the training Kum. Krati first explained the tablet operations, how to take care of the hardware and then introduced them to the software. She highlighted where to find the resources such as tablet manual, Ekal Vidyalaya text books, various edu-videos and how to access them and use them. The ‘hands-on’ training was enjoyed by acharyas and at the end of 2 hrs training they were confident of using the tablet and its various features. As Kum. Krati explained Sri Anant helped the users to do ‘hands-on’ what was being explained.

Sri Raghavan took a brief training on the teaching mehodology and other aspects of the Ekal Movement.

After evaluating the outcome of this pilot project sometime in January further recommendation will be made if such a programme should be undertaken in other parts of the country as well.
