Delhi government will provide financial assistance for entrance examination coaching to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students for admissions to civil service, law, engineering, medicine and banking, among other major courses.
The proposal, which will be placed before the cabinet next week, seeks to provide financial support to eligible SC/ST students, where the annual family income is less than two lakh. Those with up to six lakh annual family income will be provided 75% assistance. Delhi government plans to reach out to at least 5,000 eligible students by the end of this month.
