Hospitals In Rajasthan To Have Sanskrit Verses On Its Walls

All the 17000 government hospitals in Rajasthan will have shlokas and verses from the Vedas, Puranas, Smritis, the Ramayana and the Mahabharat painted on their walls. According to the state's health and ayurveda minister Kalicharan Saraf, Hindi translations will be given.

Different verses will be painted in different departments. News says that verses for 3 department have been finalised. On the OPD walls, "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhniya, Sarve Santu Niamaya (everybody should be happy and healthy)" will be painted. Similarly on the OT walls it would be "Swastya Swastha Rakshnam (God, keep the person alive, healthy and happy)" and on the walls of labour rooms it will be "Acharya Parmo Dharma (Behaviour is supreme deed).

A five member committee headed by Sanskrit Academy chairperson Jaya Dave will be finalising the verses.
