A special weather services for the benefit of people visiting Prayagraj during Kumbh Mela has been launched. This will also be very helpful for the local and state authorities in the efficient management of the entire event.
This will provide information of the prevailing weather and forecasts for next 3 days. Four Automatic Weather stations (AWS) have been installed at four different locations at Prayagraj and have been made operational. In addition a mobile van (AWS) has also been made operational.
A mobile application named "Kumbh Mela Weather Service" also has been developed to disseminate the live weather information (temperature, humidity, rainfall and winds) as observed in all the above four sites. In addition, the mobile app will also provide weather forecast and warnings if any for Prayagraj for next 3 days. The Mobile App will be available for downloading from Google Store.
The observational sites are distributed in all four directions within 5-10 km radius and are located at: (i) Allahabad University, (ii) Delhi Public School, (iii) G.B. Pant Institute of Social Science and (iv) Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS).
कुंभ मेले के दौरान प्रयागराज आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधा के लिए आज विशेष मौसम सेवाओं का शुभारंभ किया गया है। स्थानीय और राज्य प्रशासन के लिए पूरे आयोजन के कुशल प्रबंधन में भी यह सेेेेवा काफी मददगार साबित होगी
प्रचलित वातावरण की जानकारी देने तथा अगले तीन दिन के मौसम का पूर्वानुमान व्यक्त करने के लिए प्रयागराज में 4 अलग-अलग स्थानों पर स्वचालित मौसम केन्द्रों (एडब्लयूएस) की स्थापना की गई है और उन्हें प्रचालित कर दिया गया है। इसके अलावा एक मोबाइल वैन (एडब्ल्यूएस) को भी प्रचालित किया गया है।
इसके अलावा "कुंभ मेला वेदर सर्विस" नाम से एक मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन का भी शुभारंभ किया। इस मोबाइल एप्लीकेशन को उपरोक्त चारों स्थलों में अवलोकित मौसम की ताजा जानकारी (तापमान, आर्द्रता, वर्षा और हवाओं) को प्रसारित करने के लिए विकसित किया गया है। यह मोबाइल ऐप प्रयागराज के लिए अगले 3 दिन के मौसम का पूर्वानुमान और किसी भी तरह की चेतावनी भी उपलब्ध करायेगा। यह मोबाइल ऐप गूगल स्टोर से डाउनलोड किया जा सकेगा।
ये अवलोकन स्थल 5-10 किलोमीटर के दायरे में चारों दिशाओं में स्थापित किए गये हैं जिनमें: (i) इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय, (ii) दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, (iii) जी.बी. पंत इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ सोशल साइंस और (iv) सैम हिगिनबॉटम यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ एग्रीकल्चर, टेक्नोलॉजी एंड साइंसेज (एसएचयूएटीएस) शामिल हैं।
