Indian Side Of Mansoravar Included In Tentative List of World Heritage Sites Of India
Proposal for ‘Sacred Mountain Landscape and Heritage Routes’ (Indian side of Kailash Mansoravar) has been included in Tentative List of World Heritage Sites of India as a Mixed site in April, 2019. The site has been proposed under UNESCO criteria (iii), (vi) & (x) of Operational Guideline. As per UNESCO’s Operational Guidelines 2017, a site must be on tentative list of UNESCO at least for a period of one year before proposing it for final nomination.

Self Defence Training For Girls In Schools
Dept of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD, has launched Integrated Scheme for School Education i.e. Samagra Shiksha effective from 2018-19, which includes self defence training for girls. This training is imparted to girls of class VI to XII belonging to government schools. Self-Defence training is also being given in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) which are residential schools meant for girls of class VI to XII and belonging to disadvantaged groups. (PIB)
5322 Janaushadhi Pariyojana Kendras Functional
Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, while giving a written reply to a question on Janaushadhi Kendrasin Rajya Sabha on Friday, stated that as on 10.06.2019, 5322 Kendras are functional under ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana’ (PMBJP). Out of these, 144 PMBJP kendras are run by persons belonging to SC/ST community.

Cancer Institute At GMC Jammu Approved
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has formally approved 120 crore rupee Cancer Institute at Government Medical College, Jammu for strengthening the tertiary level cancer services in the State.
Earlier, one State Cancer Institute was approved for Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura in Srinagar for which first grant-in-aid of 47.25 crore rupees has already been released. (AIR)

Retail e-Payment Transactions Jump 95%
Driven by efforts aimed at “higher financial inclusion and adoption of mobile payments”, India posted an accelerated growth rate of 95 per cent in the volume of retail electronic payment transactions in 2018-19, a Reserve Bank of India report said.
