Dreams start small. Ask Sudiksha Bhati, student and winner of a Rs 1.92 crore scholarship in a college in the US. Sudiksha, whose father runs a small dhaba and mother is a homemaker, used to dream about studying in a school when financial constraints forced her to drop out in 2009.
Today, the 17-year-old is waiting for her visa, for a four-year Bachelor’s course in entrepreneurship at the prestigious Babson College in Massachusetts, often ranked the most prestigious entrepreneurship college in the United States. The college has admitted 24 other Indian students this year. “We have already formed a WhatsApp group and am in touch with all of them,” she says.
“I never look at challenges as obstacles... they are opportunities,” says Sudiksha, the toast of her village in Dadri. Till yesterday, the budding entrepreneur was being feted as the CBSE Bulandshahr district topper with 98% score and tall aspirations.
