Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra shows what granting of community rights over forest produce can do to the lives of poor tribal people. And this was done after bamboo was re-classified as a 'grass' or 'minor forest produce'.
After this is the time to provide training for making of bamboo craft. This would add to the value and give more money to the poor.
