Not much is done or even talked about of relief to victims of acid attacks. Here comes a positive story of one Sheroes Hangout, a cafe in Agra. This is run by five acid attack survivors.
This cafe has been started by an NGO - Chaav Foundation. This cafe, a first of its kind in India, has a feminism library, a handicraft and art exhibitions centre and a documentary screening area.
Set up near the Taj Mahal in December 2014, attracts many visitors.
On this Women's Day on March 8 Sheroes Hangout received the Nari Shakti award from President Pranab Mukherjee.
