Eleven students of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce have helped 20 marginalised women from east Delhi become financially independent.
While studying how to curb harassment of women while coming to the metro or leaving from it, the students conceived of a project named Adhikaar through which they have taught basic etiquette, self-defence skills and driving to the women. Apart from that, they have also taught them traffic rules, and helped them get driving licence and buy e-rickshaws on micro-finance. The women are earning Rs 30,000 per month on an average.
