Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has reported that the total solar energy production in the year 2018-19 was 21.365 Billion Units (BUs), as on 31.10.2018. In the previous year the total solar energy production was 25.871 BUs.

Apparel And Garmenting Centres In All NE States To Be Operationalized Soon
Ministry of Textiles under North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) had sanctioned a project to set up one each Apparel and Garmenting Centre consisting of three units in all North Eastern States at a cost of Rs. 18.18 crore per Centre. Construction and installation of machinery in 21 units in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura were completed and the facilities have since been handed over to the Project Implementing Agencies of respective State Governments who are in the process of operationalizing the units through entrepreneurs. This information was given by the Minister of State of Textiles, Ajay Tamta, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Elimination Of Unmanned Railway Level Crossings
Government has planned to remove or man all unmanned level crossings (UMLCs) on Broad Gauge (BG). As on 01.04.2014, there were 8948 UMLCs on BG. All UMLCs on BG have now been eliminated except 28 UMLCs which have also been planned to be eliminated by closure, merger, subway and manning. (PIB)
Boundary Walls At Accident-Prone Spots Along Rail Tracks Planned
The railways are planning to construct boundary walls along the rail tracks in the accident prone locations. Many deaths occur on the tracks, when people try to cross over because of convenience. The Railway Protection Force will be identifying areas where people generally cross railway tracks.

No GST On Flats After Completion Certificate Issued
GST will not be levied on buyers of real estate properties for which completion certificate is issued at the time of sale. However, Goods and Services Tax (GST) is applicable on sale of under-construction property or ready to move in flats where completion certificate is not issued at the time of sale.

Medical College At Silvassa Approved
Union Cabinet has approved the setting up of Medical College at Silvassa in the Union Territory (UT) of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, at a capital cost of Rs. 189 crore to be incurred in two years, 2018-19 – Rs. 114 crore and 2019-20 – Rs. 75 crore with yearly intake of 150 students.
